Steffen Faas's racing journey began in the Seat Leon Series, where he won the 2007 Seat Leon Langstrecken Challenge title before transitioning to race a VW Polo. His success continued as he was crowned the KTM X-Bow champion in both 2016 and 2017.
In 2017, Faas ventured into the world of truck racing with Team Schwabentruck IVECO, competing in two events, at the Nürburgring and Slovakiaring alongside legend Gerd Körber.
Adapting to the unique challenges of truck racing, Faas found the experience both exhilarating and demanding: “Racing aboard a truck is completely different to what I raced before because of the different engine, the brakes/braking behaviour, sitting high up in the cabin and the focal point is directly above the front axle, it is challenging,” explained Faas.
Joining tankpool24 Racing in 2018, Faas partnered with two-time ETRC champion Norbert Kiss for a full season campaign in a Mercedes-Benz truck. Despite facing stiff competition, Faas claimed five victories in the Promoter's Cup, narrowly missing out to Shane Bremerton on the overall win.
Taking a brief sabbatical in 2019 to focus on his family businesses, Faas returned to the track in 2020 when tankpool24 and FAAS Truckracing joined forces and built a brand-new challenger from a P-Racetruck. Impressively, Faas not only managed the team but also showcased his driving skill, securing two victories and four podiums in the Promoter’s Cup.
The 2021 season saw Faas continue his upward performance, securing two podiums at Misano and finishing third in the standings. Despite facing different challenges in 2022, Faas demonstrated his resilience, clinching a Promoter's Cup win and multiple podiums to secure fourth place overall.
In 2023, Faas engaged in a thrilling battle with José Eduardo Rodrigues, securing victory in four races and challenging for Promoter's Cup glory until the final round. While Rodrigues ultimately claimed the title, Faas's tenacity and skill kept fans on the edge of their seats throughout the season.
