HALM TAKES DOMINANT WIN AS TAYLOR EXTENDS CHROME LEAD WITH OVERALL SECOND

Steffi Halm claimed a dominant victory in Race 2 after overtaking Mark Taylor on the first lap.

The two drivers were side by side as the grid headed into the first turn after the lights went green. Taylor, starting from pole, held the inside line and maintained the lead. Halm stayed close and kept the pressure on the Chrome driver as they battled around the Jarama circuit. Going into Turn 6, there was some rubbing, but Halm made a clean pass and took the lead.

From there, she was unstoppable, pulling away to secure a commanding win at Jarama.

Taylor kept a good pace, with the gap hovering around a second, until Jochen Hahn and Norbert Kiss charged through the field. They were initially slowed by André Kursim, who defended hard to hold onto his third position, but the German couldn’t keep them behind.

The trio drivers went three-wide down the main straight. While Hahn focused on passing Kursim, Kiss took the wider line, overtaking both to move into third. Hahn managed to pass Kursim but remained in fourth.

Kiss and Hahn quickly closed in on Taylor, but the tight layout of Jarama made overtaking difficult. By the final lap, Taylor had a train of Titan trucks behind him, all waiting for a mistake. However, he held his ground and crossed the finish line just 0.022 seconds ahead of Kiss. The fourth place for Hahn confirmed his second place in the overall standings.

Kursim finished fifth, followed by Sascha Lenz in sixth. Lenz’s result increases his championship lead to 31 points, securing him third place in the overall standings.

Championship rival Antonio Albacete failed to score points, confirming Lenz’s third-place finish. Albacete and José Eduardo Rodrigues both retired after a collision when Albacete attempted to pass Rodrigues. Misjudging the move, Albacete clipped Rodrigues' rear, sending both into a spin and neither finished the race.

Steffen Faas finished second in Chrome and seventh overall, extending his deficit to Taylor in the Chrome standings to eight points. If Taylor leads by more than 10 points after Race 3, he will secure second place in the Chrome standings.

John Newell completed the Chrome podium, with Jonathan André and Bradley Smith rounding out the top ten. Luis Recuenco, Clemens Hecker, Craig Reid and Simon Faulkner were the final classified drivers. Faulkner made a welcome return to the grid after missing qualifying and Race 1 due to a spring failure.

Luke Garrett was the only driver not to start Race 2, due to a snapped front spring.
