Last-gasp Kiss tops Goodyear FIA ETRC Most Warm-up

Seven-time title winner Norbert Kiss underlined his victory credentials in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship by going fastest in Saturday morning Warm-up at Autodrom Most.

The Hungarian hero left it late in the 15-minute session to clock a best time of 2m01.056s with Sascha Lenz and Antonio Albacete second and third fastest respectively.

For championship contender Albacete, the performance served as a welcome boost after the T Sport Bernau driver was eliminated in the second phase of Friday’s rain-hit Qualifying 1-2-3.

Jochen Hahn, who also failed to progress to Q3, was fourth fastest, one place ahead of his son, Lukas Hahn. Steffi Halm and Mark Taylor, eliminated in Q1 in two major shocks, were sixth and seventh fastest as José Eduardo Rodgrigues went eighth quickest followed by Chrome pole-sitter John Newell and Bradley Smith.

René Reinert, Luis Recuenco, Czech hero Adam Lacko, Steffen Faas, Luke Garrett, Emma Mäkinen and Christian Ruppert filled the remaining places on the Warm-up classification.

Race 1, which will be streamed live on YouTube, is up next from 12:40 local time with Race 2 following at 16:15.
