Albacete ready for the Goodyear FIA ETRC challenge at home
Antonio Albacete will start his home round of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship in contention for finishing runner-up to Norbert Kiss and wary of the challenge in store at Circuito de Madrid Jarama – RACE.
Spanish hero Albacete, a winner of three FIA ETRC titles, starts the season showdown in fourth position, 19 points adrift of second place in the provisional standings.
While the 3.850-kilometre Circuito de Madrid Jarama – RACE is familiar to the Goodyear FIA ETRC regulars, it’s very much a home event for T Sport Bernau driver Albacete.
“For me to race at Jarama is fantastic,” Albacete said. “It’s my home race, 25 kilometres from where I live. It’s always very good to race there, it’s an old-shape circuit and quite demanding. But I like to be there and I always like to race there.
“It’s a little bit narrow but it’s good for truck racing. It’s a challenge with some tricky corners and also some fast ones when you come down the hill. It’s demanding and you have the heavy braking before the left-hander.

“It’s fantastic to win at Jarama, it’s always great, even for the fans. As we are not playing for the championship, sometimes it’s worth to finish eighth for the reverse grid. Jochen [Hahn] and me are winning there the most so there will be a fight for that title.”
Tickets remain on sale for the 2026 Goodyear FIA ETRC finale, which is part of the 39th Grand Prix de España FIA Europeo de Camiones weekend. Click HERE for more information.
