Taylor tops Chrome runners in Goodyear FIA ETRC Saturday Warm-up

Mark Taylor marked himself out as the Chrome driver to watch at Circuit Zolder by setting the pace in Saturday morning Warm-up for Circuit Zolder’s round of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship.

The reigning champion registered a provisional best lap of 1m58.719s to go sixth quickest overall. John Newell, his closest challenger for Chrome honours, set a 1m59.885s and ended the 15-minute session in ninth overall.

Norbert Kiss, who is chasing a record-extending eighth Goodyear FIA ETRC title in 2026, was fastest outright in a time of 1m56.834s. The MAN-powered Révész Racing driver from Hungary was also quickest in Free Practice 1 and Free Practice 2 on a rain-affected Friday at the Belgian Truck Grand Prix.

T Sport Bernau’s Antonio Albacete was second quickest with a best effort of 1m57.772s as René Reinert went third fastest to complete a MAN-powered top three in 1m58.466s.

IVECO-powered Jochen Hahn was fourth quickest followed by MAN-driving pair Sascha Lenz and Taylor as IVECO racer Steffi Halm went seventh fastest.

José Eduardo Rodrigues, Newell and Mercedes-Benz-powered Luis Recuenco completed the top 10 with Jonathan André, Steffen Faas, Luke Garrett, Clemens Hecker and Stefan Kursch next up.
