Kiss quick as Goodyear FIA ETRC Zolder weekend begins
Norbert Kiss has made a rapid start to Circuit Zolder’s Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship weekend by going fastest in Free Practice 1.
The seven-time champion clocked a best time of 2m02.531s on a damp but drying Circuit Zolder following a rain shower two hours before the first track action of the Belgian Truck Grand Prix event began.
Jochen Hahn was second fastest, lapping the 4.001-kilometre layout in 2m03.136s as Mark Taylor set the Chrome category pace in third overall on a 2m04.086s.
Antonio Albacete was fourth quickest followed by Sascha Lenz and John Newell, Taylor’s main rival for Chrome title glory.
Steffi Halm, the winner of Race 4 at Autodrom Most last month, was seventh fastest as René Reinert, Jonathan André and Steffen Faas rounded out the top 10.
Luis Recuenco, Luke Garrett, Clemens Hecker and Stefan Kursch followed but José Eduardo Rodrigues failed to record a lap time.
