Goodyear FIA ETRC champion Kiss on top in Jarama Free Practice 2

Norbert Kiss took his turn in the Spanish spotlight when he set the Free Practice 2 pace for the deciding round of the 2026 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship this morning.

With the 3.850-kilometre Circuito de Madrid Jarama – RACE all but drying out following earlier rain, MAN-driving Kiss clocked a session-topping time of 2m01.581s to edge out local hero Antonio Albacete by 1.321s.

Sascha Lenz was third quickest despite a trip into the gravel trap at Turn 1 after eight minutes, which led to the 30-minute session being momentarily halted.

José Eduardo Rodrigues was fourth fastest ahead of Chrome pacesetter John Newell and IVECO-powered Jochen Hahn, who was quickest in Free Practice 1.

Mark Taylor and Lukas Hahn were next up in seventh and eighth respectively followed by Bradley Smith, Steffi Halm, Luke Garrett, Steffen Faas and René Reinert.

Spanish driver Luis Recuenco was 14th fastest as Jonathan André completed the top 15 ahead of Clemens Hecker and Mika Mäkinen.

Qualifying 1-2-3 provides the next track action from 13:25 with Race 1 scheduled to get under way at 15:50 and Race 2 following at 18:05. Qualifying 1-2-3 and both races will be streamed live on YouTube and broadcast across Europe and around the world.
