High-flying Hahn edges Goodyear FIA ETRC Free Practice 2
Jochen Hahn helped to set up a thrilling battle for the Race 1 pole position at Le Mans this afternoon as the fastest three Goodyear FIA ETRC drivers were covered by less than 0.4s in Free Practice 2 this morning.
Six-time European champion Hahn clocked a session-topping best time of 2m04.540s to edge out Norbert Kiss by 0.174s and Antonio Albacete by 0.373s.
Sascha Lenz was fourth quickest ahead of José Eduardo Rodrigues and Bradley Smith, who set the pace among the Goodyear FIA ETRC Chrome competitors.
René Reinert and Steffi Halm were seventh and eighth respectively as Chrome title chasers Mark Taylor and John Newell rounded out the top 10 in that order.
Steffen Faas, Luke Garett and Clemens Hecker were next up, but Luis Recuenco was unable to record a lap time, the Spaniard’s G.P.R Sport operation having completed an engine change following Friday’s Free Practice 1.
The 30-minute session was red-flagged with six minutes remaining due to repeated penalty marker violations and was not resumed.
Qualifying 1-2-3 is next from 10:00 local time when the Goodyear FIA ETRC drivers will battle for pole position for Race 1, which is due to begin at 14:10 live on YouTube.
