Goodyear FIA ETRC Zolder raceday two round-up: Kiss shines in the Belgian rain with epic victory double
Norbert Kiss took a giant step towards winning the 2026 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship with two heroic wet-weather drives at Circuit Zolder today.
Having shared the race wins with Sascha Lenz on Saturday, Kiss triumphed twice in the rain on Sunday for a provisional lead of 105 points with two events and eight races remaining.
After winning Race 3 from his 10th pole position of 2026, the Révész Racing-run Hungarian charged through from eighth to first in Race 4 for victory number 15 of the season, pulling off several spectacular overtakes in the process.
Antonio Albacete and Lenz joined MAN-driving Kiss on the Race 3 podium after finishing second and third respectively with Lenz coming home second to the seven-time European champion in Race 4, one place ahead of IVECO-powered Jochen Hahn, who led for the first eight laps.
Steffen Faas shone in the Chrome category with a victory double for tankpool24-Racing. By twice finishing second in the division, defending champion Mark Taylor completed the Belgian Truck Grand Prix weekend still leading the title standings, three points ahead of John Newell.
After a rare error dropped him out of the Chrome podium fight in Race 3 – he finished fourth behind Jonathan André – Newell bounced back to place third in Race 4, securing the most fan votes to win the Goodyear Wingfoot Award ahead of Albacete and René Reinert.

Race 3 winner Norbert Kiss said: “The conditions were not bad but for sure the wait was worth it because 15 minutes before the start when we came to the grid the rain was really bad and then I would not have liked to race,” Kiss said. “But we waited and the rain stopped and the conditions improved and 90 per cent of the circuit was okay, only some places where there was some standing water. But we avoided that, and it was good, I’m happy with the result. We worked very well in the rain and got the rhythm.”
Race 3 Chrome winner Steffen Faas said: “It was a good race. I had a poor start, Sascha [Lenz] and Steffi [Halm] had a bit of a tangle, Mark [Taylor] got a better start than me, I dropped in behind him, found a couple of points where he was slower than me, got on the back of him, then took him into the tight right-hander by coming up on the inside and I pulled a gap, it was comfortable. It’s done me proud and I’m happy. Race 2 couldn’t have gone any better. The pace was fantastic and to keep the others behind was brilliant. Jochen [Hahn] sold me a dummy and I fell for it, hands up. It is what it is but it’s job done [in Chrome].”
Race 4 winner Norbert Kiss said: “Good race and I enjoyed the wet for sure. Conditions were improving so I could find a bit of extra grip, some special lines on the outside, good overtakes, I could brake very late and have some good exits and overtake some people. There were some tight calls as expected in a rain race like this. But I was very happy to catch Jochen and overtake him on the outside, it was very nice. To stay in front and win some races is good and another good job from Révész Racing. It’s satisfying when you can make these overtakes stick.”
Race 4 Chrome winner Steffen Faas said: “It’s very nice, a good race and a good start. I tried to hold my position, but Norbi was very fast, Sascha also. But I’m happy to be first in my category twice, it’s perfect. We fix the truck now, go to the IAA Transportation [event in Hannover] then go directly to Le Mans.”
All drivers are racing with Goodyear’s new-for-2026 tyre, which features 60 per cent sustainable materials, while Albacete, Newell and Reinert were nominated by the expert jury for the Goodyear Wingfoot Award on Instagram during Race 4.
