Goodyear FIA ETRC season highlights clip now online

Charting the action-packed season from the opening round at Misano World Circuit through to the deciding event at Circuito de Madrid Jarama – RACE and lots of what happened in between, the clip, narrated by Chaz Draycott and produced by wige, hears from several Goodyear FIA ETRC drivers as well as officials from the FIA, the global governing body for motor sport and the federation for mobility organisations worldwide.

One of the highlights of the clip, which is available by clicking HERE, captures Norbert Kiss beating René Reinert to victory in Race 2 at the Slovakia Ring by 0.010s. Of his last-gasp triumph, 2026 Goodyear FIA ETRC champion Kiss said: “It was good races, especially the reverse-grid races, both Saturday and Sunday. Last-lap overtake, and last-turn overtake with René, I think the closest finish in truck racing history.”

The Hungarian’s team-mate Reinert said in response: “It was nice for the spectators, for everyone and also for Norbi, for me not!”

Kiss won 20 times during the 2026 Goodyear FIA ETRC season but was unable to add to that tally on eight occasions, including in Race 4 at Autodrom Most when Steffi Halm kept him at bay during a thrilling contest. The Révész Racing MAN-powered driver said: “In Most we had a lot of fun overtakes and a lot of good fights with other people and sometimes you reach someone you cannot overtake if they defend well.”

IVECO-powered Halm, who drives for Team Schwabentruck, added: “I was very happy to stay in front and keep him behind me, this was a great moment to win that race in front of him. It was a difficult year for us, but I think we learned a lot.”

Among other drivers to feature in the clip is Jochen Hahn, the six-time champion and 2026 runner-up. He said: “All race drivers, we love it, we enjoy it, it’s our blood, it’s our passion. Norbert Kiss played with us, my goal is to stop his play, and I hope we found the tools what we need. We will come back, and we will fight with him, and I enjoy it.”

Chrome category contender Clemens Hecker, meanwhile, singled out the performances of Kiss and Sascha Lenz in the rain-hit Race 4 at Circuit Zolder: “Everybody makes a good job here, but the field is so close together. The weekend in Zolder, the last race in the wet, it was amazing job from Norbi and Sascha what they have done.”

Lenz said: “It was a very good year for us given the resources we have. We can be very proud of ourselves and I’m incredibly proud of my team, it’s been a huge success for us.”

Antonio Albacete: “We know each other but, in the circuit, it’s different. When we close the visor, it’s different.”

Jonathan André: “It’s very interesting for me to fight with the drivers of the European championship because it’s the best level and it’s nice for me to improve my driving and improve my truck.”

Steffen Faas: “From inside the truck you don’t really have a full view around you. So you have to focus on your racing line and try to leave everyone enough room to survive.”

John Newell: “After you’ve cooled down everything’s alright, it’s how it is, it’s racing.”

José Eduardo Rodrigues: “It’s not been an easy season for me, but we try to understand and learn the maximum for the future.”

Mark Taylor: “It’s been like a rollercoaster, it’s been up and down but we’ve had some good times and bad times. But without that it wouldn’t be motor sport.”
