Goodyear FIA ETRC star Hahn confident of fault find
Jochen Hahn is confident he’ll be back on top form at the Slovakia Ring today after a power issue hit his hopes of Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship success on Saturday.
The six-time European champion reported the issue after he finished more than six seconds behind Norbert Kiss in Race 1. It then led to his exit from Race 2, a rare DNF for the German driver.
“Now everything is okay, it looks good,” Hahn said after he posted the third fastest time during this morning’s Warm-up. “In Race 1 after lap four [we had a power loss] and in Race 2 directly, the same but stronger so it was impossible to drive. There was not so much work last night but to find out [the problem] it’s a long time so we cross the fingers, I hope we have found the problem.”
Hahn’s retirement means he’s slipped 19 points behind defending champion Norbert Kiss in the battle for the 2026 Goodyear FIA ETRC title. But he believes he can compete against the Hungarian on level terms when he returns to the track for Qualifying 4-5-6 from 10:25 local time.
“I feel I can go the speed of Norbi and this means a lot at Slovakia Ring,” Hahn said. “From this side we change nothing for today, only to fix the problem.”
Qualifying 4-5-6, Race 3 and Race 4 will be live on YouTube.
