Focus pays off for Halm in Goodyear FIA ETRC
Steffi Halm produced her best qualifying result of the 2026 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship season so far by making it through to the Q3 shootout at the Nürburgring this morning.
German racer Halm, who qualified sixth for tomorrow’s Race 1, had previously managed a best result of seventh and said before the chase for pole position got under way that a strong qualifying performance would be key to a successful weekend at the Int. Shell ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix.
“For sure the target is to be better in the qualifiers, to have a better starting position,” said the IVECO-powered driver,” who finished third in the 2025 Goodyear FIA ETRC standings. “I think in the races we’re good, so we’ll be focused on the qualifying and then go for the race.”
Halm is one of eight homegrown drivers racing in the Goodyear FIA ETRC this weekend, an occasion that’s not lost on her.
“Nürburgring is always a big event but for us all, and very special for us because we have many guests here, also from IVECO,” she said. “It will be a great weekend with nice weather.
“The circuit is a little bit shorter and you have a chicane with a big kerb so it’s very tough for the truck as you really jump over it,” Halm explained. “But the way you jump is very important because it’s important to have the tyres quick on the floor again to get acceleration. It’s a tricky track, it looks not so difficult but it’s tricky to be fast here.”
Race 1 of the Goodyear FIA ETRC Nürburgring weekend is scheduled for 10:20 local time tomorrow (Saturday) with all the action live on YouTube.
