Slovakian start-up company presented first homologated hydrogen bus in Europe at Goodyear FIA ETRC Innovation Camp
During the Slovakia-round of the championship, Slovakia-based company mobility & innovation showcased their composite lightweight, zero-emission city bus in the Innovation Camp of the ETRC paddock: “We want to show towns and cities that hydrogen is not the future, it is the reality,” said János Onódi, the CEO of mobility & innovation (MIP)
MIP is a European leader in the development of emission-free city buses utilising an ultra-light composite bodywork construction: “You can compare it to a race car. It has a composite monocoque,” said Onódi.
In March 2022, the hydrogen-powered version of the bus passed the complicated homologation process in cooperation with the company TÜV SÜD Czech and first versions of the bus have been used for promotional and testing activities to showcase its use in city transport.
They hydrogen-powered bus was one of many sustainable developments showcased in the Goodyear FIA ETRC Innovation Camp this season.
It is a platform for manufacturers to present alternatively powered vehicles to the industry, truck drivers and fans.
