Taylor’s treble boosts Chrome Goodyear FIA ETRC advantage
Mark Taylor extended his lead in the Chrome category standings after a victory treble in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship at the Nürburgring last weekend.
After sharing the category wins with Bradley Smith on Saturday, Mark Taylor proved unbeatable in both counters on Sunday.
The defending Chrome champion underlined a highly successful weekend in Germany by finishing second overall to Norbert Kiss in Race 4.
“It was a good race, a good start, everyone was fair,” Taylor said following his Chrome win in Race 1. “The first corner was quite busy but every got round good, there were no dramas and I’m pleased everyone could do the race.

“I had a good start in Race 3, there was no trouble in front, I just managed a good, clean race and that’s how I like them, let the battling happen behind us. I got José [Eduardo Rodrigues] at the start and, after that, it was a nice, clean and easy run, a good Sunday morning drive.
“Race 4 was one of my favourite ones. One minute you think you’ve got breathing space, the next minute Albacete is on you, so it was cat and mouse all the way round. It was good, a few mistakes but we kept it there. The team has worked so hard on the truck and to finish with what we have today has been a good outcome.”
MAN-powered Taylor now leads fellow Briton John Newell in the Chrome standings by eight points ahead of the summer break.
