President of Czech Republic inspires Lacko to home Goodyear FIA ETRC podium

Czech Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship star Adam Lacko has thanked his country’s president, Petr Pavel, for the support he showed during a visit to Autodrom Most last weekend.

Pavel was in attendance at Autodrom Most to pursue his hobby of motorsport photography, having become a regular at events in recent years.

He took some time away from his trackside activities to visit Lacko and the Buggyra ZM Racing team in the Goodyear FIA ETRC paddock, which former European champion Lacko, said had helped to inspire him to a podium finish in the fourth race of the weekend.

“He goes everywhere, he also goes to Formula One and he come to our tent to visit us,” said Lacko. “We make a picture together and I’m very happy he’s coming and making time for this event.”

Lacko was making his second Goodyear FIA ETRC appearance since his eagerly anticipated comeback to the series in the summer. He achieved his pre-event aim of a podium finish.

“It’s perfect, it was our target before the weekend and it’s happened,” Lacko said of his third place in Race 4.“It’s only one time but it’s good, it’s perfect. The fact it was in the last race was very nice and I’m happy. I’m proud of me because I do it but I’m proud of all the team because it was not an easy weekend. We have a lot of trouble before [Race 4], is maybe not possible to start because the engine stopped in [Race 3], a lot of things was not good but in the end it’s very nice.”

Asked if would return to the Goodyear FIA ETRC in the future, Lacko, who originally planned two outings in 2026, said: “You never know.”
