Rodrigues back on track with Nürburgring Goodyear FIA ETRC podium
José Eduardo Rodrigues got his Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship campaign back on track with his second podium of the season at the Nürburgring earlier this month.
The Portuguese driver arrived in Germany on the back of two non-starts at the Slovakia Ring the previous month and eager to make amends.
After finishing sixth in Race 1, the MAN-powered third-generation competitor finished Race 2 in second position before he added more points with sixth place in Race 3. However, he was eliminated from Race 4 after he got caught up in the opening-lap collision that delayed Adam Lacko and Bradley Smith at Turn 2.

“I tried to escape the crash but it was impossible,” Rodrigues explained. “I have a big touch in my rear and I turn. The damage was only some parts, nothing special, but I was really unlucky. I tried for a podium but it’s racing, that’s life. Overall it’s a very good weekend for me, I’m happy.”
Rodrigues heads into the summer break sixth in the overall Goodyear FIA ETRC standings and on top of the Young Driver classification.
