LUKAS HAHN TAKES MAIDEN WIN IN FRONT OF HOME CROWD

Lukas Hahn had a flawless second race at the Nürburgring, taking his maiden Goodyear FIA ETRC victory in front of his home crowd.

Starting from reverse pole, Hahn handled the pressure of leading the race expertly, making no mistakes in the 12 lap race. Antonio Albacete tried to mount an attack in the closing stages of the race, but Hahn stayed cool under pressure to bring home the Overall and Promoter’s Cup win.

“It was an amazing feeling to stand on top of the podium," said Hahn. "There are so many people here with me, my family and friends, celebrating this victory. It means a lot to win here. It’s for my grandfather Conni, he would be very proud.”

Steffi Halm had a great start to the race, looking like she too might have a shot at the lead of the race, but she settled back into third, a position she would never give up. Norbert Kiss was on a charge at the end, passing Jochen Hahn for fourth, but he just ran out of laps to challenge Halm for the podium, crossing the line three-tenths behind her.

Jochen Hahn completed the top five, with Adam Lacko sixth ahead of second place in Promoter’s Cup and teammate Téo Calvet. Sascha Lenz had a great recovery drive up to eighth after starting at the back due to the suspension spring failure that took him out of Race One.

Jose Rodrigues and André Kursim completed the top ten with the former taking the bottom step of the Promoter’s Cup podium. Kursim, who had started second, had a terrible start that saw him fall down the order. He fought with the Chrome drivers to hold onto his tenth-place finish.

Anthony Janiec crossed the line 11th as the lowest placed Titan driver. He finished ahead of Shane Brereton, Steffen Faas and Jamie Anderson. Anderson’s race was hurt early when he was given a drive through for crossing the white line at the start. \

Clemens Hecker finished 15th ahead of Emma Mäkinen. The Finnish driver had a great second race, managing to pass Stefan Kursch and Luis Recuenco who finished 17th and 18th respectively. The only driver not to finish was Erin Kleinnagelvoort , who had an engine failure on the penultimate lap, putting him in the barriers at the final chicane.
