Most Preview

After the summer break, the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship is back in action at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic this weekend.

Most rings in a busy second half of the season, with 2 double-header race weekends over the next four weeks, and the championship final is taking place at Jarama, Spain on 1/2 October.

14 drivers will line up on the grid when the lights go out on Saturday afternoon.
Norbert Kiss had a strong first half of the season and is leading the championship with a respectable 48-point gap ahead of Jochen Hahn in second and Sascha Lenz in third.

Local hero Adam Lacko took his first win of the season at the Hungaroring and will be looking to get on the top step again in front of his home crowd this weekend.

A consistent run of podiums and a win at Misano have put T Sport Bernau racer Antonio Albacete in fifth position overall, and the Spaniard is always one to watch for the Top 3.

Steffi Halm scored her first couple of podiums in the last round at the Nürburgring and will be looking to add to this tally on the weekend.

After his podium at the Slovakia Ring, Don’t Touch Racing driver Andre Kursim will be in the run for more silverware in Most.

THE PROMOTER’S CUP BATTLE IS HEATING UP

Buggyra racing driver Téo Calvet turned around his campaign in Germany, putting himself back in contention for the Promoter’s Cup title. The Frenchman had a tough run of races in the first half of the season, but a clean weekend at the Nürburgring put Calvet on top of the standings ahead of the second half of the season.

British racer Jamie Anderson had a strong run in the first half of the season, scoring two overall wins and 7 category wins, and he’s now only two points behind Calvet.

Shane Brereton, who currently sits in third in the Promoter’s Cup standings will be looking to get back on the top of the podium after a mixed performance in German.

German driver Steffen Faas as well as Portuguese driver José Rodrigues, who both scored several category podiums already this season, are yet to score their first win and will have their eyes firmly set on the top step.

After taking his first overall win at the Nürburgring in July, Lukas Hahn returns to the grid for the Most round as a race by race entry.

French outfit Lion Truck Racing confirmed it will continue to race in the Goodyear FIA ETRC after the passing of their driver Anthony Janiec.
The team will enter Jonathan André, who comes with some experience in car racing. André completed a test day in Nogaro and will be lining up on the grid in Most in the team’s bright yellow MAN.

The action gets under way with free practice on Friday afternoon and the all-important qualifying will begin on Saturday morning with two races on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
